Tasty Muscle Building Protein Shakes

Some health professionals suggest that women may actually benefit more from protein powder than men when undertaking a fitness program. This is because men typically have enough protein in their diet whereas women often fall short (As a rough guide, the recommended dietary intake for protein – measured in grams per kilogram of bodyweight – is: 0.75 g/kg for adult women).  Protein powder can help assist in filling the gaps and so to help you do just that, we’ve scoured the internet to bring you some of the tastiest protein powder shakes to help you build that dream physique.

1. STRAWBERRY-PINE-ORANGE

  • 1 scoop Strawberry Protein Powder of choice
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed pineapple-orange juice
  • Ice
  • Put all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

2. STRAWBERRY-BANANA

  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder of choice
  • 6 medium strawberries, hulled
  • 1 medium banana
  • Water
  • Ice
  • Put all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

3. TUTTI FRUTTI

  • 2 scoops Strawberry Protein Powder of choice
  • Frozen Berries of choice
  • 225 mls Coconut Water
  • Put all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

4. CHOCOLATE COVERED ALMONDS

  • 1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder of choice
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 tsp Cacao Powder
  • 1 tsp Stevia (optional)

5. BREAKFAST BANG

  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder of chouce
  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 20g Instant Oats
  • 1 heaped tsp Instant Coffee
  • 225mls Milk, Water, or Almond Milk

6. JAMIE OLIVER’S HOMEMADE PROTEIN SHAKE

  • 1 banana, peeled
  • 150g low-fat natural yoghurt or soya yoghurt
  • 100ml of semi-skimmed milk or dairy-free milk
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (or to taste)
  • Whizz all ingredients together and drink right away!
